RINA is currently recruiting for a Valencia Junior Survey Station Surveyor to join its office in Valencia within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.
Mission
The Junior Surveyor's primarily function is to survey and assess ships and other marine structures during construction and in service, for compliance with the applicable Class, statutory and other possible applicable requirements. #LI-DP1
Key Accountabilities
- Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related Rules, Regulations, requirements, concepts, principles and processes;
- Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed;
- Maintains survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility;
- Maintain active awareness of new working methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities;
- Recommends new approaches to problems encountered;
- Performs routine surveys on classed ships, platforms or other marine structures and at manufacturers sites for compliance with classification and statutory requirements, under the guidance and supervision of a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor or Principal Surveyor.
What are we looking for
- Formal qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in marine surveying, vessel operations, or a related maritime field.
- Basic knowledge of marine industry rules, regulations, and standards (such as classification societies and statutory requirements).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document survey findings.
- Good proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest solutions when challenges arise.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office software and the ability to adapt to various tools as needed.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally.
- Willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills in marine surveying.
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from more experienced surveyors.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain survey files and ensure accurate reporting.
- A proactive approach to tasks, with the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Ethical conduct and the ability to uphold integrity and transparency in professional interactions.
- Willingness to travel.
