RINA is currently recruiting for a Hydro Engineering & PMC Hydraulic Engineer to join its office in Tunisie within the International Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

Mission

The role is focuses on developing and designing of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations under the supervision of Senior Engineer.

Key Accountabilities

Hydraulic System Design:
 - Develop and design hydraulic systems for infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Analysis and Modeling:
 - Conduct hydraulic analyses and modeling to assess system performance under various conditions.
 - Identify and mitigate potential issues related to water flow, pressure, and drainage.
Project Collaboration:
 - Work closely with project teams, integrating hydraulic considerations into overall project designs.
 - Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and environmental specialists.
Site Inspections:
 - Conduct site inspections to assess existing hydraulic systems, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with design specifications.
Documentation:
 - Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and documentation related to hydraulic design for internal and external stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance:
 - Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to hydraulic engineering.
 - Ensure designs align with applicable codes and guidelines.
Client Interaction:
 - Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, address concerns, and provide technical expertise.
 - Communicate complex hydraulic concepts clearly and effectively.
Innovation:
 - Explore and recommend innovative solutions and technologies to enhance hydraulic system performance and sustainability.
Technical Expertise:
 - Make calculations using HEC-RAS software for various elements within engineering projects.
 - Develop geotechnical engineering projects from preliminary phases to detailed designs.
Project Support:
 - Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements.
Project Management:
 - Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.
 - Prepare project deliverables, including technical reports, performance documentation, and engineering drawings.
Quality Assurance:
 - Be aware of and understand the Quality Policy.
 - Ensure that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA Quality Management System (QMS).
 - Contribute to the improvement of the QMS according to your role.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering

Qualifications

  1. Experience: Entry-level position with preferably 0-2 years of experience in hydraulic engineering or related fields. Prior internships or coursework related to hydraulic system design and analysis are advantageous.

  2. Technical Skills:

    • Basic understanding of hydraulic system design principles and industry regulations, with a willingness to learn and develop proficiency.
    • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, or SWMM is desirable, with a willingness to learn and apply these tools under supervision.
    • Ability to assist in conducting basic hydraulic analyses and modeling to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
    • Eagerness to collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and environmental specialists to integrate hydraulic considerations into overall project designs.
    • Basic knowledge of site inspection techniques to assess existing hydraulic systems and identify areas for improvement.
