RINA is currently recruiting for a Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join its office in Trieste within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.
Mission
The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining flight simulation systems' models and advanced flight control systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and safety in our aerospace technologies.
Key Accountabilities
- Development of algorithmic models for Synthetic Environments (dynamic simulation models of vehicles, life forms, natural phenomena, weaponry, automatic controllers, artificial intelligence).
- Advanced use of the Matlab-Simulink environment and the process of automatic code generation (C and C++) in Windows environments.
- Development of mathematical models related to rational mechanics, natural phenomena (e.g., atmosphere), and, more generally, phenomena related to mechanics and electronics (e.g., radar, infrared radiation, radio communications, transponders, etc.).
- Application of numerical techniques and methodologies used in dynamic simulation, with a preference for soft real-time techniques.
- Use of specialized knowledge in the aeronautical field, with particular attention to flight mechanics and aerodynamics, for the development of flight models of aircraft and weaponry, including expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques.
- Drafting of documentation related to aerial, terrestrial, and naval vehicles (including their systems and weaponry) and their operational use in military contexts.
- Use of technologies related to distributed simulation systems (e.g., HLA & DIS).
Education
Qualifications
- Experience with programming languages such C++, or MATLAB, Python is a plus.
- Experience in modelling dynamic models for Synthetic Environments.
- Basic knowledge of software development and integration processes.
- Understanding of data analysis and simulation techniques.
- Familiarity with avionics systems and aerospace industry standards is a plus.
Competencies
- ADDRESS THE WAY - Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way
