RINA is currently recruiting for an Electrical Plan Approval Senior Engineer to join its office in Trieste within the Marine South-West Europe Region Division.

Mission

This role focuses on performing detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met. #LI-GZ1

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements;

  • In some cases (1), ensure that reviews of novel aspect designs, falling outside the plan approval field of competence, are of the highest quality, using the most appropriate technical tools and procedures, and in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements;

  • Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards;

  • Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements;

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day project elements, visit sites to take measurements;

  • Ensure correct and up-to-date data is used and complete documentation is submitted to officials and other day-to-day duties;

  • Review the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.);

  • Review progress reports and take appropriate action to ensure requirements are met;

  • Take ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks;

  • Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues. Manage simple and complex projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques;

  • Assess complex structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions;

  • Answer complex contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel.

Education

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years relevant related work experience - Previous experience in a Classification Society and/or in marine sector will be considered a strong plus

  • Advanced level of Italian and English language

  • Driving license and availability to short missions/travels in Italy and abroad
