Foreship (part of RINA) is currently recruiting for a Project Manager, Electrical Systems to join its office in Tallinn within the Marine Design & Engineering Division.
Mission
The role focuses on managing the delivery projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with classification society rules, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and schedule performance. #LI-DP1
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage electrical system projects, including power distribution, automation, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Prepare, review, and approve electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all designs and installations comply with classification society rules and marine electrical codes.
- Coordinate with project engineers, naval architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and advanced solutions to achieve project objectives.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning oversight as needed.
- Support mentoring and development of junior electrical engineers within the project team.
- Communicate effectively with clients, shipyards, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering projects in the maritime industry, including experience as a project engineer or project manager.
- Proven experience with ship newbuilding and conversion projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine electrical systems, including power distribution, automation, and control systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and familiarity with rule calculation software.
- Knowledge of classification society rules and marine electrical codes.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating project teams.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools.
