Would you like to join a dynamic team at the forefront of revolution in the electricity industry?

RINA is an independent global engineering business, specialising in consulting engineering services and technical advisory for the renewable energy sector. We offer a complete package of services to investors, lenders, developers, independent power producers (IPPs) and asset owners.

We are currently looking for Associate Consultants to join our teams in Sydney (Manly) and Melbourne (CBD) to support our growth in this exciting sector. You will find yourself working on a range of battery energy storage, solar and wind projects and interacting with other teams in our renewables business units world-wide.

The Role

The role will be focused on delivering services in the renewable energy sector as either Owner’s Engineer or Independent Engineer, including feasibility studies, design, project development services, technical due diligence, construction monitoring, acceptance testing, performance and operational services, as well as involvement in winning and delivering new projects across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess clients’ needs and translate them into designs, equipment, or new systems under the supervision of a consultant. From the initial concept stage through to completion, they manage project timelines and oversee all developments;
2. Plan technical solution: engineering consultants find unique ways to resolve technical issues without affecting the overall completion deadline or affecting the involvement from other departments or external companies;
3. Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced consultants;
4. Prepare the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentation and engineering drawings, etc.);
5. Provide direct or indirect support to engineers/consultants or engineering/consultants teams by gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation to officials and other day-to-day duties;
6. Create documents and reports that detail their assessments, any fact-finding survey data acquired, the project’s inception, and concept planning;
7. Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, visit sites to take measurements, answer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel;
8. Be aware and understand the Quality Policy. Ensure that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA QMS. Be aware of the quality of his own work and its impact on service delivery and contribute to the QMS improvement according to his/her role;
9. Interact with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives using appropriate technical judgment;
10. Able to discuss and define client requirements; reflecting a clear understanding in well written technical reports and proposals;
11. Develop an understanding of RINA business processes in order to prepare commercial and technical proposals.

The Person

You are a highly professional and energetic candidate ready to deliver technical excellence to match the RINA renewables team ethos. You are an effective technical thinker with sound problem solving skills and a collaborative approach. You are keen to continue developing your skills and to support other team members. As an excellent communicator you have well-developed report writing and presentation skills with acute attention to detail. You thrive on customer engagement and be motivated to build lasting relationships.

Your customer focus and sound technical judgment equip you to achieve your project objectives. You will work well in all scenarios and as a ‘self-manager’ and take satisfaction from using your initiative and taking accountability.
