RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine Engineering Project Manager to join its office in Sunrise, FL within the Marine Consulting Division.
Mission
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting project execution and assisting in the coordination of tasks to ensure successful project delivery. Working under the guidance of the Director, the Project Manager helps manage resources, monitor project timelines, and maintain effective communication among team members and client.
Key Accountabilities
Project Support:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of project plans, defining individual tasks, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with the project team.
- Update project trackers and reports regularly to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
Client Interaction:
- Act as a supporting point of contact for the client, providing regular updates as directed by the Project Manager.
- Address client queries and concerns promptly, escalating issues when necessary to maintain client satisfaction.
- Participate in client meetings, taking notes, and following up on action items.
Documentation:
- Prepare and organize project documentation, ensuring that all records, including contracts, scope documents, and timelines, are accurate and accessible.
- Track document versions and ensure compliance with company documentation standards.
- Assist in creating reports and summaries for internal and client use, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Scheduling and Coordination:
- Coordinate meetings, arrange logistics, and distribute agendas and minutes to relevant stakeholders.
- Track key project milestones and send reminders to the team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain and update the project calendar to reflect changes in timelines or deliverable deadlines.
Budget and Risk Monitoring:
- Support budget tracking by collecting and compiling expense reports and project costs for analysis.
- Assist in identifying potential budget variances and flag them for the Project Manager.
- Monitor project risks, document them in risk logs, and report findings to assist with risk mitigation.
Quality Assurance:
- Assist in conducting quality checks on deliverables, ensuring they meet the specified standards.
- Document and report any quality issues or deviations from the project plan.
- Provide feedback to the team on areas for improvement in project processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering or technical role within a project setting, ideally with exposure to cross-functional teamwork.
- Basic understanding of project management principles, including project lifecycle, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Proven ability to work effectively in team settings, ideally with some exposure to cross-functional project work.
- Experience in tracking progress, managing schedules, and coordinating small project components or task lists.
- Experience in stability, inclining tests and Lightship calculation
- Proficiency in Autocad, Maxsurf, Napa.
- Proficiency in MS office package.
