Marine Intern

RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine Intern to join its office in Singapore within the  Division.

Job Description:

• • Rotation through Departments: During the internship, the intern will be attached to the operations department and the commercial department, both about 50% of the total duration.
  • Project & Research: The intern may be assigned to tasks specific to (digital) workflow optimisation or business analytics during the internship.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Help to prepare and present reports on projects, findings, and recommendations to the marine management team.
  • Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions, industry events, workshops, and educational programs.

Specific Projects / Learning Outcomes: 

• • Regulatory Knowledge:
    • Develop understanding of the role of classification societies, its rules, surveyor and plan approval activities as well as statutory requirements.
  • Business Acumen:
    • Enhance knowledge of customer interaction, maritime business development and market.
  • Sustainability:
    • Awareness of the developments of decarbonisation and the maritime energy transition.

Requirements: 

• • Keen interest in the shipbuilding industry and shipping. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Show self-initiative.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, macros, programming and data analysis/visualisation tools (such as Power BI).
  • Physically able to visit ships and shipyards.
