RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Advisor, North Asia to join its office in Shanghai, China within the International Legal Affairs Division.

Mission

The Legal Affairs Area Manager is responsible for ensuring the company's legal compliance and mitigate risks by providing expert legal guidance, drafting and negotiating robust contracts, and managing corporate governance activities efficiently and effectively in China

Key Accountabilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the corporate legal department at the Head Office to provide legal support and guidance.
  • Work with business units to identify and mitigate risks during proposal and contract review phases
  • Take care and foster cooperation among other functions and legal support in the assigned region.
  • Review, negotiate, and provide feedback on proposed contracts to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and update contractual documents, deeds, declarations, and policies, ensuring compliance with Group regulations and applicable laws.
  • Periodically update company standard form documents to align with best practices and maintain compliance with Group regulations and applicable laws.
  • Support the accounting department with payment and collection matters.
  • Partner with the procurement department and head office legal team to interview and select external legal counsels as needed.
  • Manage corporate secretary activities, including organizing shareholders’ and board of directors’ meetings and drafting meeting minutes, in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Experience with labor and employment law is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Law

Qualifications

 

  • Proficiency in English (will be tested).
  • 5 or more years of experience in a legal advisory role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance (maritime Law knowledge would be a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Italian knowledge is a plus.
