New Building Technical Support Senior Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a New Building Technical Support Senior Engineer to join its office in Shanghai, China within the North Asia Marine Division.
Mission
This role focuses on facilitating effective communication with clients during the pre-sale phase. It is responsible for interpreting RINA Rules and statutory regulations for clients, identifying their core needs, addressing their inquiries at an early stage, and proposing potential value-added solutions, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and supporting the successful acquisition of potential projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide dedicated technical support and authoritative interpretation of Rules and Regulations for potential or secured New Building (NB) projects.
- Assist clients during the contract and design phase, providing guidance and support related to machinery and related systems.
- Regularly monitor and summarize the updates of marine statutory rules and class notations that are to enter into force, conduct in-depth interpretation of the update points and their impacts on new building projects, and timely develop detailed, targeted and easy-to-understand presentation materials to support pre-sale technical communication, customer consultation and internal coordination, so as to facilitate clients' in-depth understanding of RINA's adaptability, particularly on machinery arrangement, alternative fuels, energy efficiencies and various de-carbonization technologies.
- Strive to enhance RINA’s visibility through appropriate means such as Approval in Principle, with a focus on market hotspots and cutting-edge technologies, particularly alternative fuels and various de-carbonization technologies.
- Review machinery drawings based on applicable rules.
Education
Qualifications
Education:
Major in Marine Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Engine Engineering or similar.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in marine machinery systems design, installation, or approval.
- Hands-on experience in propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, power generation equipment, and safety-related machinery.
- Familiar with maritime trends on alternative fuels, de-carbonization techniques, as well as FUELEU Maritime and IMO GFI & NZF.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of marine machinery systems, including propulsion, auxiliary engines, pumps, HVAC, fuel systems, and other mechanical systems on board vessels.
- Familiar with Classification process, Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.
- Fluent in English, capable of smooth oral communication.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, such as Excel, PPT and Word.
