RINA is currently recruiting for a I&M System Engineer to join its office in Daejeon, South Korea within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division.

Mission

We are a leading consulting firm specializing in infrastructure and mobility solutions. Our Korean Branch of the International Infrastructure and Mobility Division is dedicated to delivering innovative and high-quality services for metro and light rail transit (LRT) projects in Korea.

We are currently recruiting for a Railway System Engineer to join our team in Korea and contribute to the successful delivery of complex railway projects. In particular, the System Engineer will be assigned to the tramway project in Daejeon City and will reside at Daejeon City, working with the other members of the SE team.

Key Accountabilities

  • System Engineering Management
    • Define system engineering strategies and methodologies for metro/LRT projects.
    • Oversee system integration, ensuring seamless interaction between subsystems (e.g., signaling, rolling stock, power supply, communications).
  • Requirements Management
    • Manage requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and verification processes.
    • Develop and maintain traceability matrices to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • RAMS Management
    • Develop and manage the RAMS process according to EN standards.
    • Develop and maintain system level hazard logs and review RAMS process and documentation of suppliers
  • Interface Management
    • Coordinate technical interfaces between stakeholders, contractors, and subsystem providers.
    • Ensure effective communication and resolution of interface issues during the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Documentation and Reviews
    • Prepare and review technical documents, including system specifications, design reports, and test plans.
    • Lead technical reviews and ensure documentation meets industry standards and project requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering General

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in railway system engineering, with a focus on metro and LRT projects.
    • Proven expertise in system integration, requirements management, and interface management.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of metro/LRT systems and subsystems (e.g., CBTC, SCADA, traction systems).
    • Proficiency in using system engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect).
    • Familiarity with international standards and best practices (e.g., EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
    • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
  • Language:
    • Proficiency in English (mandatory).
    • Proficiency in Korean (preferred but not mandatory).
