Senior Hull Plan Approval Engineer/ Stability

RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Hull Plan Approval Engineer/ Stability to join its office in Norway within the Marine North Europe Region Division.
Mission
This role focuses on performing detailed plan and design reviews, resolving issues related to conflicting design requirements, ensuring client requirements and applicable standards are met.
Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.
Native norvegian language and very good english is a must

Key Accountabilities
- Review and approve structural and/or stability drawings of ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions.
- Perform structural calculacalculation ( knowledge about FEMAP software is an advantage ) and/or Stability calculation (knowledge NAPA software is an advantage)
- Assist clients during the design and construction phase, Retrofit as well as new building , providing guidance and support related to structural and/or stability design.
- Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards and or freeboard and loadline related.
- Perform assessments and provide specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
- Oversee and manage day-to-day project elements, visit sites to take measurements.
- Ensure correct and up-to-date data is used and complete documentation is submitted to officials and other day-to-day duties.
- Review the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.).
- Review progress reports and take appropriate action to ensure requirements are met.
- Take ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks.
- Understand and apply project management concepts providing feedback to project manager, serve as reference for the escalation of issues.
- Manage simple and complex projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques.
- Assess complex structural or stability problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions.
- Answer complex contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer, and serve as liaisons between engineering and construction personnel.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years in hull and stability-related engineering roles.

Proven experience in performing and reviewing complex engineering calculations related to hull structure and vessel stability.

Demonstrated ability to apply technical and scientific knowledge to solve practical engineering problems.

Good knowledge of IACS rules and IMO regulations ( SOLAS , MARPOL , LOAD LINE , Ballast Water Management Convention )

Experience with PAX and RO-RO PAX vessels is considered an advantage.
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, especially under tight schedules.
