RINA is currently recruiting for a Lombardy Industrial Services Inspector to join its office in Milan, Italy within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.​

Mission

The role is focuses on ensuring the safety and quality of industrial services (e.g. electrics mandatory certification, lifting equipment mandatory certification, elevator and plant certification, welding, pressure equipment, personnnel certification and CE marking) helping businesses meet regulatory standards and deliver reliable, safe services to their customers. #LI-MC1

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct Inspections, Examinations and Audits: Perform on-site inspections, examinations and audits to assess compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations and certification requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection, examination and audit reports, clearly documenting findings and recommendations for corrective actions or improvements. Maintain accurate records of inspections, approvals and rejections.
  • Material, Process and Procedure Review: Review materials, manufacturing and process procedures, as well as testing methods (e.g. NDT), to verify compliance with applicable certification requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor quality control processes and activities to ensure adherence to approved quality control plans, procedures and relevant standards.
  • Code and Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with applicable industry codes, standards, regulations and technical requirements, ensuring that inspections and examinations are performed in accordance with the latest applicable provisions.
  • Personnel Qualification and Certification: Assess the qualifications, competencies and certifications of personnel, services and operators to ensure they meet the required standards and certification criteria.
  • Safety and Equipment Reliability: Promote and enforce appropriate safety measures during inspection activities. Evaluate the reliability and safety of inspected equipment and plants through appropriate tests, measurements and verification activities.
  • Client Interaction and Technical Support: Communicate effectively with clients, address technical questions and provide clear information and guidance regarding applicable certification schemes, requirements and inspection activities.
  • Continuous Improvement and Training: Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of inspection processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Stay current with the latest inspection techniques and technologies and provide training or technical support to colleagues and clients when required.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial inspection, certification or technical inspection roles, preferably within industrial services, equipment or manufacturing environments. 
  • Industrial Inspection Experience: Proven experience in industrial service inspection, with expertise in areas such as electrical systems, lifting equipment, welding, pressure equipment, personnel certification and CE marking.
  • Regulatory & Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of applicable regulations, mandatory certifications, industry codes and technical standards for industrial services, equipment and machinery.
  • Quality & Safety: Solid understanding of quality assurance principles, safety regulations and compliance requirements applicable to industrial activities and equipment.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to read, interpret and assess technical drawings, manuals, specifications and compliance documentation.
  • Inspection & Testing: Proficiency in the use of inspection tools, measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Compliance Assessment: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformities and assess compliance with applicable safety regulations, codes and standards.
  • Communication & Reporting: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical reports and effectively interact with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Independent Working: Ability to work independently and, when required, under the supervision of senior inspectors on complex or high-risk assignments.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and provide practical recommendations for corrective and compliance-improvement actions.
  • Professional Certifications: Relevant professional certifications, qualifications or membership in recognized industry bodies (e.g. IWCF, LEEA, CE Marking) are considered an advantage.

Compensation Data

The salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with CCNL RINA (CNEL code I480).The gross annual salary range foreseen is between €38.000 and € 48.000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role.In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.The overall compensation package is complemented by the Company's welfare.
