RINA is currently recruiting for a Infrastructure & Mobility R&D Project Manager to join its office in Genoa or Rozzano (Italy) within the Italy Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

Mission

You will join the Research & Innovation Unit within the Infrastructures & Mobility Business Unit and work closely with similar functions across the various Business Lines at RINA. You’ll be part of a young and dynamic environment where research and innovation are key pillars of the overall development strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the definition and implementation of R&I strategies and initiatives, supporting the creation of new solutions and business opportunities for the Business Unit. This role will allow you to grow both professionally and personally, gain hands-on experience in multidisciplinary projects, and become a technical point of reference in your areas of expertise.

 

Key Accountabilities

A) To contribute to the performance of the Research & Innovation Unit in terms of new opportunities creation, in the Buildings and Infrastructure sector with a focus on the topic of risks analysis and resilience, specifically by:

  • Maintaining the current network and partners
  • Networking to identify prospective partners to be engaged in R&I activities
  • Identifying the most likely R&I opportunities
  • Scouting of partners and calls
  • Creating proposal ideas and concepts
  • Supporting in the definition of consortia, demos, and proposal writing

B) To contribute to the performance of the Research & Innovation Unit in terms of Project Management in R&I projects in the Buildings and Infrastructure sector with a focus on the topic of risks analysis and resilience, specifically by:

  • Coordinating the RINA team involved in the R&I project
  • Ensuring the timely submission of deliverables, according to RINA quality standards
  • Autonomy in work planning and decision making
  • Cooperating with the colleagues of the Practices and Disciplines involved in technical activities
  • Coordinating the transfer of the R&I results, so that to improve and boost the service offering of the BU

C) To contribute to the performance of the Research & Innovation Unit, by developing innovation activities in the in the Buildings and Infrastructure sector with a focus on the topic of risks analysis and resilience, by:

  • Mapping of internal competences
  • Identifying innovation and business-related opportunities and follow-up them
  • Defining new/improved services and supporting the BU to transfer to the market these innovative or improved services
  • Participating in proposals/offering both at national and international level dealing with innovation or where innovative approaches, solutions, concepts might lead to a competitive advantage for the Business

     

Education

Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering or architecture

  • PhD will be considered a plus
  • Expertise in at least one of the following topics: risks analysis (for natural hazards), resilience assessment of buildings and infrastructure, risk-based mapping, probabilistic analysis and design of buildings and infrastructure

  • Experience of 1–3 years will be considered a plus

  • Previous experience in co-funded research projects and programs (e.g. Horizon Europe, National Funds, PNRR research funds, overseas programs, etc.), from idea conceptualization to proposal writing, submission, up to project management, execution and reporting

  • Previous experience and collaborations with Italian and European research and academic institutions, funding authorities and the private sector

  • Previous experience in innovation management and team engagement in guiding innovation processes/developments

  • Strong analytical thinker with problem solving attitudes

  • Good interpersonal skills and organizational capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects on short assignments, proactive to meet deadlines

  • Passionate for research and innovation

  • Willingness to learn and improve in a structured manner, within a systematic monitoring and review process

  • Fluency in Italian and proficiency in English written and spoken

  • Proficiency in second language will be considered a plus

  • Available to travel abroad
