RINA is currently recruiting for a Energy Research & Innovation Project Manager to join its office in Milan or Genoa, Italy within the Green Energy Solutions Division.

Mission

This role drives the management of international R&D projects and proposals, targeting the future of sustainable, decarbonized built environments, smart energy solutions, and climate adaptation across urban and rural landscapes.

Key Accountabilities

The new resource will join the Energy Innovation Strategic Centre team, with a primary focus on R&D projects and innovation activities. Their responsibilities will include:

  • Managing EU R&D projects in sustainability, decarbonization, and climate adaptation for both urban and rural environments. This includes the implementation of building energy efficiency measures, smart energy management systems, positive energy districts, and initiatives under the New European Bauhaus framework.
  • Developing and managing EU R&D proposals related to the aforementioned areas.
  • Building and managing a network of international partners for EU projects.
  • Identifying and pursuing funding and tender opportunities in the field of energy efficiency.
  • Contributing to RINA’s technical development activities within EU-funded projects while engaging with international partners.
  • Preparing and delivering reports and results for European research and innovation projects focused on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and climate mitigation/adaptation.
  • Supporting the creation of new opportunities and proposals in European and international R&D programs.
  • Strengthening RINA’s network of R&D partners in energy transition, climate mitigation, and adaptation.

Education

Master’s Degree
Doctorate/PHD in Civil Engineering or Architecture

Qualifications

  • Degree in Energy or Building Engineering, or Architecture, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency in buildings, or climate mitigation/adaptation strategies for the built environment.
  • A PhD in a relevant field is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field (including time spent on a PhD).
  • Fluency in both English and Italian.
  • Strong reporting skills, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to conduct research, organize tasks, and deliver results.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Open to innovation and creativity, with strong networking skills.
