RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine Consulting Business Development Manager to join its office in Rotterdam within the Marine Consulting Division.

Mission

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for the EMEA region is responsible for driving business growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa by identifying new market opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's presence within the marine sector. This role involves enhancing sales, promoting brand visibility, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and preparing technical and commercial offers.

Key Accountabilities

Market Analysis and Strategy:Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities within the marine industry across the EMEA region.Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.

Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform business strategies.

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including potential clients, distributors, and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients.
  • Prepare detailed technical and commercial offers tailored to the specific needs of clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management and Technical Directors team to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of offers.
  • Present and explain technical aspects of offers to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders in the marine industry, such as shipbuilders, ship owners, ship management companies. 
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote products and services.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and initiatives that highlight the company's offerings.
  • Provide input on product development and enhancements based on market feedback and customer needs.
  • Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Analyze sales data and market feedback to identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and providing ongoing support.
  • Work closely with the customer service team to enhance the overall customer experience.

What we are looking for

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the marine industry.

Strong understanding of the marine industry, including key players, trends, and customer needs.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Willingness to travel across the EMEA region to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Technical background or understanding of marine engineering and equipment is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience preparing technical and commercial offers.

Familiarity with Microsoft softwares nd sales analytics tools.

Knowledge of international markets and experience in global business development, specifically within the EMEA region.
