RINA is currently recruiting for a Welding Engineer to join its office in Rome within the Materials & Technologies Division.
Mission
This role is focused on development and optimization of new materials and their weldability, welding systems, qualification of welding processes for R&D and support in industrial applications. She/He is part of a team for the execution of research projects in short/long term activities and for supporting business technology initiatives. Availability to work at customer sites or other RINA offices for medium/short periods.
Job Responsabilities
- Lead projects and preparation of project proposals aiming at developed of welding procedures and technologies, non-destructive techniques, welding metallurgy of steels and non-ferrous materials, mechanical testing of welded joints.
- Support for the welding laboratory and non-destructive testing.
- Works of inspection/surveillance and Quality Control in the role of Welding Inspector.
- Review and analysis of engineering documents; verification of compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Carrying out design and engineering consulting activities at different levels (feasibility studies, concept selection, prototyping).
- Dealing with process development and characterization activities in collaboration with other specialists and subcontractors.
- Supporting the activities as member of the project team.
- Reporting and summarizing the assigned projects.
- Support in drawing up technical-commercial proposals.
Experience:
- Need to have: Qualification IWE (International Welding Engineer) with 5 years of experience and International Welding Inspector (IWI-C or CSWIP 3.1).
- Plus: graduation/experience in one or more non-destructive testing techniques.
