Test System and Equipment Technician

RINA is currently recruiting for a Test System and Equipment Technician to join its office in Roma within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division.

Mission

This role is focused on providing technical support throughout an array of projects and laboratory activities, thus permitting projects to progress efficiently. 

Key Accountabilities

Performing activities related to the assembly, production, and verification of electronic devices, special tools and test equipment, PCB test fixtures, and test equipment;

Conducting quality checks on newly delivered equipment to ensure proper operation;

Maintaining warranty, service, and repair records;

Orders and maintains inventory of parts for electronic equipment production;

Collaborating with vendors to obtain pricing and availability of needed parts;

Repairs of faulty components and products;

Maintaining electronic laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

Education

Professional Certificate in Electronics or Other

Qualifications

The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the preparation of the technical documentation, including but not limited to the technical data package, production package, acceptance test reports.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of electronic and electromechanical theory and practices, as well as the repair, maintenance and adjustment of various specialised electronic equipment. 

The candidate possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to utilise precision tools and is well-versed in the utilisation of laboratory equipment, materials and apparatus employed in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.

The candidate will also be competent in the implementation of safety precautions when conducting maintenance and installation procedures on electronic systems and equipment.

It would be an advantage if the candidate had knowledge of office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Good fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.

It would be advisable for the successful candidate to have a good knowledge of laboratory equipment and electronic test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, signal generators).

It would also be advantageous for them to have excellent soldering skills (IPC certification would be a bonus).

It would be preferable for them to have knowledge of engineering software tools such as Altium Designer, AutoCAD and Inventor.

A cross-field experience and a minimum of two years' experience in the fault-finding, repair, maintenance, production, and operation of electronic components and equipment would be an asset.
