RINA is currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join its office in Roma within the Sustainability and Business Innovation Division.
Mission
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure compliance with quality standards for build-to-print parts in the space and defense industries. The role involves supplier quality assessment, first article inspections (FAI), non-conformity management, and continuous process improvement for metallic and composite parts, propulsion equipment, and structural assemblies.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage supplier quality by conducting assessments, audits, and approvals (documental, remote, or onsite).
- Oversee First Article Inspections (FAI), from planning to execution, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
- Investigate and prevent escapes through root cause analysis and corrective actions. #LI-RD1
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, managing deviations (RFD) and waivers (RFW) where necessary.
- Support the Material Review Board (MRB) and manage non-conformities (NCRs).
- Maintain and update quality databases, supplier records, and certification databases (e.g., AS9100, Nadcap).
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, procurement, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure product quality. #LI-FS1
Education
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering
- Proven experience in Quality Management or Engineering, ideally in space/aerospace (supplier management, propulsion, composites, machining, NDT).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and special processes (machining, bonding, welding, surface treatments, NDT).
- Fluent in English (French is a plus).
- Excellent data management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within Europe as required.
