RINA is currently recruiting for a Social Consultant - EHSS Compliance to join its office in Genova, Milano or Roma, Italy within the ESG & Sustainability Division.

Mission

Providing various clients with engineering advice and technical solutions on different projects. The successful candidate will be part of the Project Financing Environmental & Social Compliance team based in Italy and worldwide and she/he will collaborate with other RINA teams globally and be involved in various Environmental and Social Due diligence (ESDD), External Monitoring, and Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects for Lenders purposes.  #LI-MP3

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will conduct site audits and/or due diligence and report on findings - prepare environmental and social impact assessment reports and relevant environmental / social documents to assist clients to comply with international standards and Lenders requirements. She/ He will liaise with clients supported by the project manager and line manager and support proposal preparation.

Requirements

  • MSc or MA degree in Sustainability, International Development, Sociology, Political Sciences, Anthropology, Internal Relations, International Cooperation, Social Sciences, Humanities or equivalent social studies/background
  • Prior experience in ESDD, External Monitoring and ESIA for Project Financing purposes with particular focus on Social Components Assessment and Compliance
  • Prior experience with NGOs and/or international cooperation bodies and/or international development institutions appreciated
  • Demonstrated study or working experience in domains such as human rights, gender, stakeholder engagement, grievance management, labour and working conditions, supply chain, land use and ownership, ecosystem services, indigenous people, tangible and/or intangible cultural heritage . environmental and social management systems will be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of international standards (IFC/EBRD/WB/Equator Principles or other Lenders’ Environmental, Social, Health And Safety standards) is an asset
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required, working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an asset
  • Flexibility to travel worldwide on shorts assignments

Education

Bachelor’s /Master’s Degree in Sustainability Development, International Development, Sociology, Political Sciences, Anthropology, Internal Relations, International Cooperation, Social Sciences, Humanities or equivalent social studies/background.
