RINA is currently recruiting for a Scouting R&D Opportunities & Operations Consultant to join its office in Roma or Genova within the Cyber Security and Management Consulting Division.

Mission

As an Engineering Consultant specializing in R&D opportunities, your primary responsibility is to provide support for the scouting of potential research and development projects eligible for International and European financing in strategic fields such as energy and sustainability transition and/or digital transition in many sectors (manufacturing industry, health, hard to abate industries, energy production, advanced materials bio-based industries etc.). Additionally, you will play a crucial role in identifying suitable partners for project consortia and assisting in the management of operations for financed R&D projects.

Key Accountabilities

1. Scouting and Analysis:
- Collaborate with senior consultants and teams to conduct research and identify European financed R&D opportunities in the engineering sector.
- Assist in the analysis of project requirements, eligibility criteria, and funding structures to assess feasibility.
2. Consortium Building Support:
- Support the identification and outreach to potential partners, including research institutions, industry players, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the coordination of activities to form project consortia that bring together diverse expertise.
3. Proposal Development Assistance:
- Work alongside senior consultants and partners to contribute to the development of project proposals for submission to European funding agencies.
- Ensure that proposals align with technical, financial, and regulatory requirements.
4. Project Coordination:
- Provide support in the coordination of project activities, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Assist in the allocation of resources and ensure that consortium members meet project milestones.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
- Assist in maintaining communication between the organization, consortium members, and relevant stakeholders.
- Support relationship-building efforts to enhance collaboration and project success.
6. Compliance Oversight:
- Work with senior consultants to ensure that projects comply with regulatory and contractual obligations associated with Internationa and European funding.
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports for funding agencies and internal management with the RINA R&D Financial Manager.
7. Risk Mitigation Assistance:
- Identify and communicate potential risks associated with R&D projects.
- Support efforts to mitigate risks and address deviations in project budgets and timelines.

Education

Master’s Degree
Doctorate/PHD in Engineering General

Qualifications

Master and PhD in energy engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, biomedical engineering, information engineering are preferable.
