RINA is currently recruiting for a Railway Signalling Senior Safety Assessor to join its office in Rome, Italy within the Transport & Infrastructure Certification Division.
Mission
The role focuses on performing safety assessment activities (execution of activities and reports) within the Metro and railway signalling environment.
The candidate will execute specific tasks as a member of teams for the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA), in accordance with CENELEC EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129, of trackside and onboard signaling products and systems for Italian and international projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform assessment activities related to projects in the Railway or Metro signalling domain, ensuring thorough evaluation and compliance with industry standards.
- Client Interaction: Act as the main point of contact for clients, leading meetings with clients and the assessment team to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Delivery Assurance: Ensure the timely and successful delivery of assessment and verification plans, actively supporting projects to achieve satisfactory results.
- Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and share knowledge with Assessors, contributing to their professional development and growth.
- Compliance and Standards: Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards with particular regard to EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129 Norms.
- Client Feedback Analysis: Make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in the continuous improvement of service delivery.
- Project Management: Undertake project management activities, where applicable, including monitoring the progress of projects and ensuring their successful completion.
- Design Verification: Design verification according to reference standards, conducting structural checks, and ensuring completeness checks on the quality system documentation. #LI-MC1
Education
Qualifications
- At least 3/5 years of experience in conducting assessments, validation activities, and audits within the railway environment.
- Strong background in railway systems design, operation, and maintenance, with a focus on compliance and regulatory standards.
- Proven track record of preparing and executing detailed assessment reports in alignment with industry standards and organizational requirements.
- Experience with safety management systems (SMS) and quality assurance practices within the railway sector is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of railway regulations, standards, and certification processes (e.g., UIC, ERA, EN standards).
- Strong understanding of safety and quality control procedures related to railway systems and operations.
- Ability to evaluate and assess technical systems, infrastructure, and operational processes within the railway industry.
- Proficiency in report writing and presenting complex technical information in a clear and structured manner.
