RINA is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join its office in Roma within the Sustainability and Business Innovation Division.

Mission

The QA Engineer works directly under customer control, to support a strategic aerospace and defence program. The consultant will ensure compliance with applicable quality and configuration management standards throughout the entire product lifecycle. The role involves direct engagement with project teams, contribution to documentation and reviews, and support in transitioning new systems into production within a highly regulated environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the correct application of the Project Quality Plan and internal standards (e.g., EN9100, ISO 9001), supporting the project team in meeting quality and schedule objectives.

  • Monitor and verify the consistent application of internal quality processes across all project phases, including system/subsystem integration and validation.

  • Support configuration management by defining product structures and contexts within PLM tools (e.g., MATRIX), and managing product changes and version control.

  • Review, validate, and support the release of technical documentation including drawings, part lists, wiring diagrams, interconnection schemes, and system requirements.

  • Contribute to internal project reporting by preparing presentations and KPIs for weekly and monthly quality reviews.

  • Participate in Design Reviews, Gate Reviews, and Safety & Security Panels, ensuring tracking and closure of actions and non-conformities.

  • Evaluate Statements of Work (SoWs) for suppliers, ensuring consistency with internal quality guidelines.

  • Perform acceptance activities for development hardware (buy and make), including drafting Verification Acceptance Index (VAI) and inventory lists.

  • Validate test tools and contribute to the definition and control of industrialisation and production transfer processes.

Education

Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Engineering General

Qualifications

  • Quality Assurance & Control: Proven expertise in the application of EN9100 and ISO 9001 standards, including verification of quality requirements in complex programmes.

  • Configuration Management: Experience in managing product baselines, change control, and PLM systems such as MATRIX; familiarity with defining contexts and structures.

  • System/Subsystem Integration & Validation: Capability to execute and evaluate hardware functional tests, including use of measurement instruments and understanding of environmental test standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810).

  • System Engineering Support: Understanding of system definition and verification processes, including review of justification dossiers, requirement compliance matrices (IRS/ICD), and SSDD/SSS documentation.

  • Industrialisation & Production: Competence in analysing non-conformities, defining corrective actions, and supporting production process setup; experience with tools like PLM and SAP QM.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Polish is considered a plus.
