RINA is currently recruiting for a Material and Mechanic Engineer to join its office in ROME within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.

We are looking for an engineer with expertise in fracture mechanics, fatigue, and/or large strain material behavior, along with a keen interest in metallurgy and corrosion. Your contributions will play a vital role in technology development essential for driving the energy transition within the industry.
Key Accountabilities
As a Material and Mechanic Engineer at RINA Consulting, you will be an integral part of the Material Engineering Discipline team, providing a wide range of technical services to support various industries, manufacturers, and end users in addressing structural issues related to material performance under severe service conditions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing technical documentation related to critical assets, mechanical design standards, material specifications, and material testing for hydrogen service suitability verification.
- Developing technical strategies to achieve project goals.
- Performing structural, fracture mechanics, and fatigue calculations.
- Coordinating microstructural and fractographic investigations.
- Collaborating with other project team members.
- Overseeing laboratory testing through close cooperation with laboratory engineers.
- Preparing technical reports and engaging in technical discussions with clients.
Education
Qualifications
- A PhD in applied mechanics, fracture mechanics, and/or fatigue, or 2-3 years of relevant experience, would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in CAD and FEM tools is welcome.
- Sound understanding of metallurgy and material sciences concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to tackle new challenges and a passion for continuous technical learning.
- Adaptability and strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail, capable of producing clear, robust, and accurate reports.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English is required.
