Manufacturing Process Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join its office in ROME within the Materials & Technologies Division.
Mission
This role is focused on development and optimization of production processes for metallic materials, with a particular focus on vacuum casting, atomization, additive manufacturing, investment casting, and process optimization. She/He is part of a team for the execution of projects related to melting process optimization and for supporting business technology initiatives. This role is to support the process development of new alloys for industrial customers as well as for research projects both in short term and long term activities
Key Accountabilities
- Lead projects and preparation of project proposals aiming at material development (Fe/Ni/Co alloys).
- Support laboratory team for melting process optimization to meet project/customer objectives.
- Carry out laboratory activities and testing autonomously and in multidisciplinary teams.
- Review and analysis of engineering documents; verification of compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Carrying out design and engineering consulting activities at different levels (feasibility studies, concept selection, prototyping).
- Dealing with process development and characterization activities in collaboration with other specialists and subcontractors.
- Supporting the activities as member of the project team.
- Reporting and summarizing the assigned projects.
- Support in drawing up technical-commercial proposals.
Experience:
- Nice to have: proficient or have experience with material science topics, knowledge on fabrication processes, materials chemistry. Familiarity with laboratory/equipment activities.
- Plus: proficient or have experience with steel manufacturing, investment casting, water/gas atomization.
Education
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in surface technologies, coatings, treatments, and metallurgy, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop schedules, manage resources, and mitigate risks.
