RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior System Engineer/PM to join its office in ROME within the Electronics and System Engineering Division.

Mission

The candidate will join the system and integration engineering team with a focus on activities related to space telecommunications and/or hybrid terrestrial-space systems.

The candidate will work on a range of topics within the telecommunications domain, addressing both physical layer studies and analyses (hardware components, radio propagation effects, modulation, etc.), service and application level aspects (5G, NB-IoT, GNSS, and related technologies). The tasks will also include:

  • technical support to the definition, verification and validation of systems for clients from the industrial/defence/aerospace sectors;
  • system analysis and evaluation against standards and norms.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct state-of-the-art research and analysis.
  • Identify emerging technologies, use cases, applications, and user requirements.
  • Requirements definition and management
  •       Perform technical analysis and modeling, including:
    • Link budget calculations.
    • Bit error rate (BER) evaluations.
    • Analysis of antenna and hardware performance.
  • Knowledge of system engineering V&V process.

Education

Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Electronic/TLC Engineering

Qualifications

 

  • Good knowledge of English language.
  • Solid knowledge of telecommunications principles and space systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a research-oriented mindset.
  • Previous work experience in the field is appreciated but entry-level candidates are also welcome.
