RINA is currently recruiting for a Construction Supervision Senior Engineer to join its office in Roma within the Civil Engineering Division.​

Mission

As a Construction Supervision Senior Engineer at RINA Consulting S.p.A., you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing construction projects to ensure successful delivery in line with project specifications, quality standards, environmental policies, and safety regulations. Your mission encompasses coordinating multifaceted construction activities, collaborating effectively with diverse teams and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and within the established budgetary framework. This role is fundamental in upholding RINA's commitment to excellence and sustainable engineering practices.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Project Lifecycle Management: Lead and manage civil engineering construction projects from initial concept through to final completion, ensuring full compliance with design criteria, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Documentation and Deliverables: Review technical documents meticulously, prepare and submit official deliverables aligned with contractual obligations, and collaborate with contractors to resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control measures, continuously monitor construction processes, and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards throughout the project duration.
  • Scheduling and Timeline Coordination: Develop comprehensive project schedules, employ proactive monitoring to identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement strategies to maintain seamless progress towards milestones.
  • Resource and Stakeholder Coordination: Orchestrate the mobilization of resources including workforce, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment; ensure effective communication and cooperation among all project participants to optimize productivity.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor project expenses diligently, advise on expenditure control initiatives, and contribute to budget management aimed at achieving cost-effective project delivery.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Partner closely with the Construction Safety Senior Engineer to uphold robust safety programs, conduct regular site inspections, and foster a culture of safety awareness among project teams.
  • Technical Issue Resolution: Identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges that arise during construction, collaborating with engineering teams and stakeholders to implement sound solutions.
  • Progress and Performance Reporting: Compile detailed progress reports and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders, providing transparency on project status, risks, and mitigation measures.
  • Claims and Change Management: Assist in managing contractor claims, evaluate scope changes, and facilitate necessary adjustments in schedules or designs with clear communication to all relevant parties.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain an organized repository of all project-related documentation including plans, permits, correspondence, and compliance records to support audits and project reviews.
  • Site Supervision and Support: Conduct frequent site visits to supervise operations, verify measurements, and provide technical assistance ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Support engineering departments by gathering essential data for permit applications, coordinating document submissions, and preparing technical deliverables such as reports and drawings.
  • Quality Management System Compliance: Ensure all executed activities align with RINA’s Quality Management System (QMS) policies, contributing to continuous improvement of project execution standards.

Education

Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
Certification in Construction Management or related fields is an advantage.
Proven experience (8+ years usually) in construction supervision, preferably in civil engineering or construction projects.
Solid understanding of construction principles, techniques, and practices
Proven experience in monitoring and overseeing construction projects from initiation to completion.
