RINA is currently recruiting for a Africa Junior Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer to join its office in Rome, Italy within the Energy Project Solutions Division.
Mission
As a Project Manager - Maintenance Engineering at RINA Consulting S.p.A., your mission will be to assist Project Managers or Head of Countries in all aspects of RINA initiatives focused on Oil & Gas Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. Your role will be particularly focused on Mozambique and OPEX activities, with a main focus on Maintenance Engineering Service and CMMS. You will need to draw on your experience to optimize field operations for complex customer projects, lead strategic decision-making, and ensure the highest standards of quality.

Key Accountabilities
Efficient Execution of Activities:
- Oversee and ensure the efficient execution of all assigned activities, meeting project goals and deadlines.
- Ensure proper non-conformity detection and recording, as well as relevant corrective actions implementation, if any.
- Attend job walks and bid meetings as needed to assist the direct Manager/Site Managers in determining the site conditions and developing the scope of work.
Compliance Management:
- Maintain strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protection, RINA Quality Management System (QMS), and OHSE Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.
Safety Measures and Compliance Advisory:
- Advise the direct Site Operations Managers and Customer Site Manager on additional safety measures to enhance work methods.
Participation in Environmental and Safety Programs:
- Actively support and participate in the organization's environmental and safety program, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
Communication and Issue Resolution:
- Communicate effectively with Site Operations Managers and Customer Site Manager about problems in field work.
- Provide assistance in promptly resolving issues to maintain project momentum.
Accident Reporting:
- Report any accidents and near-misses promptly to the Site Manager and to RINA OHSE team through the proper channels (handling site accidents in accordance with established accident protocol).
Job Scheduling and Performance Oversight:
- Communicate regularly with the direct Site Operations Manager regarding job schedules.
- Report performance issues and collaborate on effective solutions.
Scope of Work Changes Identification:
- Assist the Site Operations Manager in identifying changes to the scope of work promptly.
- Ensure timely communication and documentation of scope changes.
- Collaborate with responsible department managers regarding equipment problems.
- Provide input and insights to facilitate effective decision-making related to equipment.
Leadership and Decision Support:
- Provide leadership and support to ensure effective decision-making.
- Offer insights and recommendations for improved operational efficiency.
- Attend job walks and bid meetings as needed in determining site conditions and contribute to the development of the scope of work.
Education
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Engineering
- Knowledge and Management of Oil & Gas projects will be considered as a strong plus
- Project Management Expertise
- Contract Management
- Budget Management: ability to manage large budgets, conduct financial analysis, and optimize costs across multiple projects
- Fluent in English
