Brazil Tax Specialist

RINA is currently recruiting for a Brazil Tax Specialist to join its office in Rio de Janeiro within the Regional Finance Management Division.
Mission
The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant tax operations in Brazil and LATAM, acting as the main liaison with external consultants. Proactively manage tax processes, monitor legislation, and support the company’s fiscal integrity while minimizing risks and enabling business continuity. #LI-KM
Key Accountabilities

Support tax and fiscal management in Brazil, in coordination with outsourced tax consultants.

Review invoices to ensure accurate accounting for tax withholding and compliance with fiscal regulations.

Reconcile accounting and tax records (tax calculations performed by external providers).

Monitor the calculation of direct and indirect taxes.

Track and analyze tax ancillary obligations (such as SPED ICMS, EFD Contributions, and EFD-Reinf), with the support of external consultants.

Oversee and reconcile the calculation of social contributions (PIS and COFINS) and ISS (service tax).

Perform tax consultations through municipal websites, SEFAZ (Fisco Fácil), and the Federal Revenue Service portal (e-CAC).

Assist in preparing and presenting information requested by tax authorities, in coordination with tax advisors.

Monitor tax legislation and update internal procedures as needed.

Act as the main point of contact for tax-related matters in the LATAM region, supported by local consulting firms.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

+5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on tax accounting activities.

Advanced English (mandatory).

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
