RINA is currently recruiting for a Power Earthing & Lightning Graduate Consultant to join its office in Pontyclun within the Power Engineering and Renewables Division.

Key Accountabilities
As a Graduate Consultant in Power Earthing & Lightning, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting engineering projects from conception through to delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessment of client requirements and translating these into practical and effective design solutions, collaborating closely with senior consultants to ensure compliance with project goals and industry standards.
- Planning and proposing technical solutions that resolve complex engineering challenges while maintaining project schedules and coordinating smoothly with cross-disciplinary teams and external partners.
- Creating and maintaining detailed project schedules, ensuring all deliverable timelines are realistic and adhered to, thereby supporting successful project outcomes.
- Preparation and review of comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, engineering drawings, and performance analysis, to maintain clarity and transparency for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Providing essential support to engineering teams by coordinating data collection for permit applications, compiling necessary documentation for official submissions, and undertaking other administrative and technical tasks to streamline project execution.
- Conducting site visits to gather measurements, supervise technical implementations, and liaise with contractors to address queries efficiently, ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld.
- Upholding and contributing to the enhancement of RINA's Quality Management System by consistently delivering work that meets high-quality standards and aligns with corporate policies.
- Engaging proactively with clients and colleagues, demonstrating sound technical judgement and clear communication to achieve project objectives and foster long-term professional relationships.
- Developing well-structured technical reports and proposals that accurately reflect client needs and project insights, facilitated by a strong understanding of RINA's business practices and engineering methodologies.
This role requires a dynamic and resourceful individual eager to grow within their discipline and contribute to impactful engineering projects, while gaining valuable exposure to industry best practices and client engagement strategies.
Education
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to apply critical thinking and scientific approaches to engineering problems within the power and renewables domain.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under supervision while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Willingness and ability to travel 25% to 50%, supporting on-site project requirements and client engagements.
- Maturity and eagerness to develop professional competencies including foresight, domain expertise, and personal empowerment, aligned with RINA’s cultural values and quality standards.
Experience in or exposure to power earthing and lightning protection technologies would be advantageous but is not mandatory for this entry-level position. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning within the engineering consultancy field.
