RINA is currently recruiting for a EMEA Marine Consulting Project Engineer to join its office in Piraeus within the Marine Consulting Division.

Mission

The Project Engineer is at the forefront of project execution, playing a pivotal role in the calculation, design, and technical oversight of engineering projects. This multifaceted position requires a strategic thinker who can plan, schedule, and manage all technical aspects of assigned projects while ensuring accuracy, resource optimization, and high-quality outcomes. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, employ project management methodologies, and act as a liaison between the Project Manager and other project team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, analyse, and maintain marine mechanical systems, including propulsion, HVAC, and auxiliary systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Research and integrate new technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and compliance with marine industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and reviews to verify system performance.
  • Assisting the Commercial Team in client visits to comprehend their needs on the technical content.
  • Prepare technical offers according to client’s requirements.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in marine engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the marine industry.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical systems, risk assessment, and new technologies.
  • Experience working in a shipyard or shipping company is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of marine industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with marine propulsion / service systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainable and green technologies in the marine industry.
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
