RINA is currently recruiting for a Palermo Marine Senior Surveyor to join its office in Palermo, Italy within the Marine South West Europe Region Division.
Mission
The Marine Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles.The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes. #LI-MCI1
Key Accountabilities
- Professional Specialist: Applies in-depth knowledge of rules, regulations, and industry concepts; stays updated on new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.
- Inspection and Reporting: Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements; prepares technically accurate and timely reports.
- Leadership and Coordination: Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work; monitors service quality and provides guidance to less experienced surveyors.
- Training and Development: Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors; contributes to the development and improvement of the team's skills and knowledge.
- Ethical Conduct: Upholds the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes.
Education
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Surveyor or 6 years in engineering/inspection with an IACS member Classification Society.
- Proficiency in English and Italian for classification, statutory certification, and related services.
- Ability to develop knowledge of RINA Rules, statutory regulations, and safety policies. Ability to understand engineering plans and shipbuilding practices.
- Knowledge of marine management systems audits, testing activities, and certification of service suppliers/manufacturers.
- Proficiency in ship engineering systems, machinery, and relevant software packages.
- Experience in new building surveys, including material assessment, compliance checks, and certification is a preferred qualification
- Experience in ship in service surveys, including maintenance assessment, repair work follow-up, and certification is a preferred qualification
