RINA is currently recruiting for a Electrical Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Naples or Rome, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
At RINA Consulting S.p.A., we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to various Railway and Metro Projects. As a Power Supply Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the different project phases, primarily based at our office. Your work will span across the entire project lifecycle, from conception to completion.
Key Accountabilities
As a key professional within the RINA Project Team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the projects, including technology suppliers, railway infrastructure managers, operators, and third parties. Your responsibilities will include leading and participating in Power Supply Engineering activities, particularly those related to the Traction Power Network.
Main tasks:
- Lead the design of traction power systems for rail systems
- Serve as the technical authority on electrical power and traction power matters
- Generate comprehensive reports on design and provide guidance on interface and integration challenges
- Demonstrate expertise in traction power supply principles, including major feeding and sectioning principles
- Design detailed layouts for traction power substations, calculate cable sizing, develop earthing and bonding designs, and conduct LV protection calculations
- Review client technical specifications and requirements
- Prepare technical documentation for Power Substation equipment and services, and conduct technical evaluations following internal procedures
- Coordinate engineering activities with subcontractors, oversee subcontractors' documentation
- Manage engineering activities and define installation drawings accurately
- Participate in or review the Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test
- Engage in site engineering activities during construction and commissioning phases
Education
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with design, project management, and/or simulation/modelling tools such as BIM software, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, etc.
- Independently develop technical specifications, datasheets, and installation designs for various types of Traction Power systems
- Ability to create Bills of Materials (BOM) for traction substation buildings or support procurement team if required
- Strong teamworking and communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally #LI-AU5
