RINA is currently recruiting for a Contabile di Cantiere - Infrastrutture to join its office in Genoa o Napoli, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

The role contributes to the proper administrative and financial management of infrastructure construction sites, ensuring compliance with procedures, accurate job cost accounting, cost monitoring, and technical–administrative support to construction activities. The position coordinates document production, verifies progress reports, and ensures consistency between design, executed works, and contracts. 

Key Accountabilities

1. Work Accounting Management: Prepare, verify, and update site accounting records (progress reports/SAL, measurement books, accounting registers, accounting documents).; Ensure correct application of contractual prices, variations, and new unit rates.; Prepare reporting documentation for both the Client and the Contractor.

2. Financial Analysis and Cost Control: Monitor costs, progress, and variances against the approved budget; Support Management in the preparation of forecasts, final accounts, and periodic financial reports.; Promptly identify potential financial critical issues and propose corrective actions.

3. Document Management: Manage and archive technical, administrative, and contractual documentation (drawings, minutes, correspondence, permits).; Coordinate the document flow between site, headquarters, and external stakeholders.

4. Support to Construction Management and Project Team: Collaborate with engineers, construction managers, and site managers in the quantitative and qualitative verification of executed works.; Take part in site inspections and on-site surveys.

5. Document Review and Compliance; Verify consistency between design documentation, executed works, and accounting records.; Ensure that activities comply with quality, safety, and contractual requirements.

6. Management of Variations, Claims, and Contracts: Support the economic evaluation of variations, reservations, compensation requests, or claims.; Contribute to the preparation of documentation for technical and administrative assessments.

7. Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on the technical and financial progress of the project.; Provide clear and timely updates to Project Managers and stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent or higher technical qualification.

  • Proven experience in works accounting and site administrative management within civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, hydraulic works, railways, etc.).

  • Excellent knowledge of technical regulations and main works accounting tools (specifications, price lists, public procurement regulations).

  • Familiarity with quality control, safety procedures, and variation management.

  • Proven ability to manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, construction management, and clients.

  • Knowledge of STR Visio CPM works accounting software is considered a plus.
