RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Marine Technical Support Engineer to join its office in Mumbai within the Middle East and India Marine Division.
Mission
A Marine Technical Senior Engineer in RINA technical support center plays a pivotal role in maintaining maritime safety, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities
1. Technical Support: - Provide technical assistance and support to shipowners, operators, and other stakeholders. - This might involve addressing inquiries, offering guidance on technical issues, and providing recommendations to enhance vessel performance and safety. 2. Technical Performance Review: - Verify RINA adhere to the highest quality standards. Continuously assess and improve the quality of services provided to clients. - Maintain detailed KPI of surveys, inspections, and technical assessments. - Prepare reports and data documentation that outline findings, recommendations, and compliance status. 3. Problem Solving: - Analyze technical problems and develop innovative solutions. - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and improve the safety and performance of marine vessels. 4. Emergency Response and Incident Investigation: - Be prepared to respond to maritime emergencies and incidents, offering technical expertise to mitigate the consequences and ensure the safety of ships and their crews. - Investigate maritime incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine the causes and recommend corrective actions. This is vital for improving safety and preventing future incidents. |
Education
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine engineering or naval architecture, with a strong focus on technical support for marine systems, including vessels, offshore units, and marine installations.
- Proven experience working in a technical support role in a class society or marine consultancy, offering expertise in classification and compliance with marine regulations.
- Experience in providing technical advice and troubleshooting support for marine operations, focusing on system performance, maintenance, and safety.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and approving marine technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, reports, and compliance certification.
- Strong experience with marine systems such as propulsion, electrical, automation, HVAC, stability, and structural integrity.
Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of international marine regulations, standards, and codes (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISO, IACS) and their application in marine technical support and certification.
- Familiarity with the design, installation, and maintenance of ship systems and equipment, including stability, hull structure, machinery, electrical, and safety systems.
- Proficiency in using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, NAPA, or other relevant marine software) for design and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex marine systems, diagnose issues, and offer solutions.
- Experience in the application of technical standards and guidelines, as well as the ability to review and interpret technical documentation.
