RINA is currently recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant to join its office in Mumbai within the Regional Finance Management Division.
Mission
The Accountat provides essential support in both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, along with contributing to general ledger activities. This role aims to develop foundational skills in accounting processes, including payment processing, customer and vendor communication, and general ledger support. The Accountant plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall efficiency of the accounting department.
Key Accountabilities
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely posting of all financial transactions.
-Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure the accurate preparation of financial statements
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, company policies, and regulations.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other GL-related documentation.
- Ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues across accounts and departments.Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate, complete, and in compliance with internal policies, accounting principles, and regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations of GL accounts as needed.Account Reconciliation and Maintenance:
- Oversee the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, ensuring any discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and backup for all transactions.- Perform periodic reviews of accounts to identify and correct any potential issues or discrepancies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax, to ensure alignment and accuracy in the financial reporting process.
Education
Qualifications
- we prefer candidates with coursework about accounting, credit management, or finance is preferred.
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices is essential.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
- Attention to detail is crucial for accurately recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing customer information. - Candidates who have cleared IPCC (Exp 2-4 years)
