RINA is currently recruiting for a BIM MANAGER to join its office in Mumbai within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
The BIM Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating BIM processes throughout the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects, with a focus on the port sector. Acting within the framework of construction supervision (Direzione Lavori), the role provides technical coordination support and ensures accurate validation of BIM models. The position guarantees efficient, compliant, and high-quality project execution through the use of coordination and validation software, infrastructure BIM tools, and Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
Key Accountabilities
1. BIM Implementation
- Define and oversee the implementation of BIM strategies, standards, and workflows across infrastructure projects.
- Develop and update BIM Execution Plans (BEP), ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and client requirements.
2. Technical Coordination & Site Support
- Support construction supervision activities by coordinating technical aspects of design and execution.
- Ensure alignment between BIM deliverables, construction methods, and on-site requirements.
3. Model Management & Validation
- Supervise the development, coordination, and validation of BIM models, with particular focus on infrastructure and port projects.
- Perform clash detection, information validation, and quality checks using dedicated coordination and verification software.
- Guarantee that validated models provide reliable support for site activities and project decision-making.
4. Collaboration
- Facilitate effective communication among design teams, contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Ensure structured and transparent data management through CDE platforms.
5. Training and Support
- Provide guidance and mentoring to BIM Specialists and Technicians.
- Promote continuous improvement by incorporating industry advancements and infrastructure BIM best practices.
6. Quality Assurance
- Conduct systematic quality reviews of BIM models and project documentation.
- Implement corrective actions to ensure consistency, compliance, and reliability of deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Documentation
- Develop and maintain BIM protocols, standards, and libraries tailored for infrastructure and port projects.
- Ensure traceability and consistency of documentation within CDE environments.
8. Project Coordination
- Work with Project Managers to integrate BIM processes into project schedules, budgets, and contractual frameworks.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure adherence to BIM standards and support construction oversight.
Education
Qualifications
Infrastructure BIM Expertise:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in BIM management within complex infrastructure projects, preferably port-related.
Construction Supervision Support:
- Proven ability to provide technical coordination and support within construction supervision frameworks.
Model Validation Skills:
- Experience in BIM model verification, clash detection, and compliance checks.
Software Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of coordination and validation software (e.g., Navisworks, Solibri) and infrastructure-focused tools (e.g., Civil 3D, OpenRoads, Revit Infrastructure).
CDE Platforms:
- Proficiency in managing project data using Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., ACC, ProjectWise, Trimble Connect).
Leadership:
- Demonstrated capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams and support collaboration between office and site teams.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ability to conduct structured model reviews and enforce compliance with international and contractual standards.
Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical skills to address technical issues and optimize workflows in large-scale infrastructure projects.
