Sr. Project Engineer (Mozambique)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support a major offshore Oil & Gas development in Mozambique.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities across complex LNG, FLNG, subsea and deepwater projects, supporting the project from early development and engineering through execution, commissioning and start-up. 

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and technical interfaces across different engineering disciplines, contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Support engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development and FEED through EPC/EPCIC, construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Review key engineering documentation and contractor deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements, international standards, HSE requirements and industry best practices.
• Support technical evaluations, tendering and contractor management activities.
• Monitor engineering progress and contribute to schedule, cost, risk and constructability reviews.
• Participate in technical and safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS and design reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and support the resolution of multidisciplinary engineering and interface issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Naval, Marine, Electrical or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore Oil & Gas projects, including at least 5 years in engineering coordination, technical leadership or project management roles.
• Solid experience with major FLNG, FPSO, LNG, subsea or deepwater developments.
• Good understanding of FEED, EPC/EPCIC, commissioning and start-up activities.
• Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary engineering coordination, interface management and contractor management.
• Knowledge of LNG/FLNG facilities and offshore/subsea systems is highly valued.
• Previous exposure to large-scale capital projects and international contractors/suppliers.
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation and problem-solving skills in multicultural project environments.
• Fluent English is required; intermediate Portuguese is an advantage.
• A Master’s Degree in Engineering Management, Project Management or a related field would be considered an advantage
