RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Project Manager to join its office in Maputo within the Energy Project Solutions Division.
Mission
The Junior Project Manager plays a fundamental role in supporting the successful delivery of inspection activities on non-complex projects. This position ensures timely completion, budget adherence, and upholds high quality standards. You will engage with individual inspectors or small teams to coordinate their efforts, evaluate their performance, manage logistics effectively, and communicate completion reports to clients in a precise and professional manner.

- Coordination and Project Support: Organise and oversee all tasks and resources related to inspection activities, ensuring smooth progression and punctual delivery on non-complex projects. Effectively manage inspectors stationed across multiple customer sites, facilitating clear communication and task alignment.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to maintain service excellence that meets or exceeds client expectations. Regularly review inspection outputs for compliance and accuracy.
- Cost Efficiency: Monitor and manage inspection-related expenses to optimise budget usage without compromising the quality or timeliness of outcomes.
- Timely and Accurate Invoicing: Collaborate with finance and administration teams to ensure inspection service invoices are generated accurately and dispatched promptly.
- Resource Allocation: Identify qualified personnel for inspection tasks and assign responsibilities clearly, providing comprehensive documentation and guidance to on-site teams for seamless execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Assess the performance of inspection teams continually, offering constructive feedback and supporting improvement initiatives when necessary to elevate team effectiveness.
- Scheduling and Monitoring: Develop detailed plans for inspection activities, ensuring adherence to timelines. Proactively adjust schedules to accommodate changing project demands and mitigate delays.
- Reporting and Risk Management: Oversee the delivery of complete, accurate, and punctual inspection reports to clients. Identify potential risks to project timelines or quality and implement mitigation strategies promptly.
- Data Management: Ensure all inspection-related data is meticulously entered and maintained within legacy systems, aligning with established protocols and processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Conduct all activities in strict accordance with RINA's Quality, Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and Social (QOHSES) System requirements. Maintain compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SA8000 standards, and internal OHSES policies, actively participating in related organisational programs.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in mentoring and development opportunities led by senior field service managers to enhance skills and competencies relevant to inspection coordination and project management.
Education
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and demonstrate a foundational understanding of project management principles. Experience or familiarity with inspection project processes and logistical planning will be advantageous. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and basic proficiency in data management and reporting tools are essential. Enthusiasm for learning and adaptability in managing diverse teams and tasks are highly valued.
