RINA is currently recruiting for a Power Iberia Senior Consultant to join its office in Madrid within the Green Energy Solutions Division.

Mission

The Senior Consultant will deliver technical assessments of photovoltaic (PV) plants for various stakeholders in the renewables industry. You’ll provide technical consulting services to lenders, investors and owners throughout the development, procurement, construction and operations phases of PV projects. Typical core tasks will include technical due diligences as part of PV project financings or mergers & acquisitions, feasibility studies, tender management and construction monitoring.
The role supports the growth of independent and owner's engineering services in Spain and Portugal

Job Responsibilities

Technical Analysis
•    Undertaking solar PV resource and energy yield analyses including review of irradiation data, PV system and loss / uncertainty analysis
•    Leading the development, implementation and management of data collection systems
•    Improving and validating RINA’s technical analysis approaches
•    Specifications Assistance
Technical knowledge, development and research
•    Assisting in RINA’s position as industry leading solar technical consultants through continuous technical knowledge building relating to solar PV modules and inverters
•    Contributing to the continued improvement of internal processes and research to maintain our industry leading position in the field
•    Support and mentor junior team members through discrete research or development projects ensuring robustness in approach and suitability of any goals
•    Help develop, test and deliver new solutions to our clients, and be ahead of industry best practice with a solution focused attitude
Project Management and Quality Assurance
•    Management of individual projects and portfolios ranging from kW to multi MW in size across Spain and our worldwide offices
•    Ensuring the delivery of solar resource related services is on time and budget, to a very high standard and ensuring client satisfaction
•    Playing a crucial role in the quality assurance of all work within the team, undertaking QA and checking of others work, reporting and deliverables
•    Supporting business development through liaison with a wide range of customers from PV developers to financial institution
•    Help develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and teams
•    Expected to use effective communication within the project team to support delivery of the project
Client & Customer management, business development
•    Take part in scope discussions, proposal drafting and negotiations with key clients including International Finance Institutions, developers, Lenders
•    Build and maintain existing client relationships through delivery of high quality analyses, reports and discussions
•    Attend client meetings and present RINA’s approaches or results competently
Leadership & Development
•    Actively involved in developing and mentoring graduates, interns and Consultants.
•    Following market trends, identifying prospects and managing the complete project lifecycle from proposal to delivery

What we are looking for

•    Degree in an engineering field preferably in electrical or energy engineering
•    Experience is essential, in energy assessments, project engineering, procurement or construction of PV plants, preferably with a consultancy, developer, manufacturer or contractor in Spain
•    Strong practical knowledge, both technical and commercial, of how a PV plant is developed, constructed and operated
•    Appreciation of the economics of solar energy development
•    5+ years of experience in the solar PV industry
•    Practical knowledge of how solar assets are developed, constructed and operated
•    Fluency in English and Spanish and ideally Portuguese with an ability to write concise reports and present to stakeholders
•    Experience with local regulations, grid connection and grid studies is advantageous
•    Good IT skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office package
