We are seeking a for a Resident Wells Subsea Engineer to join our team in Luanda's office.

 

The Wells Subsea Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, assurance, and operational oversight for subsea well equipment and subsea-related well operations within our Client's Drilling & Wells Department. 
The role supports drilling, completion, intervention, workover, and well handover activities across our Client's operated assets, including deepwater operations performed with two deepwater drillships and shallow-water/platform operations supported by one jack-up rig. 
The Wells Subsea Engineer ensures that subsea systems, wellheads, subsea Christmas trees, landing strings, BOP interfaces, control systems, umbilicals, jumpers, EFL/HFL systems, and associated barrier-critical equipment are correctly engineered, prepared, tested, operated, maintained and handed over in accordance with our Client standards, regulatory requirements, OEM recommendations, and well integrity expectations. 
A key part of the role is to support safe and efficient completion operations using both simplified landing string systems and full landing string systems, ensuring that the selected configuration is technically justified, compatible with the well architecture, and aligned with the required well control and barrier philosophy. 

 

Key Responsibilities 
Subsea Engineering and Operational Support 
Provide technical support for subsea-related well activities, including: 
• Drilling, completion, workover, intervention, suspension, abandonment, and well handover operations.  
• Subsea wellhead systems, casing hangers, tubing hangers, subsea Christmas trees, tree caps, running tools, and associated interfaces.  
• BOP stack, LMRP, riser, choke and kill lines, control pods, and subsea control system interfaces.  
• Subsea distribution systems, including umbilicals, EFLs, HFLs, MQC plates, flying leads, jumpers, and subsea connectors.  
• Subsea isolation, de-isolation, disconnection, parking, recovery, and re-connection activities. 
• Rig-to-subsea equipment interfaces for both deepwater drillships and jack-up-supported operations.  
Support the preparation, review, and execution of subsea-related procedures, programmes, risk assessments, MOCs, and operational readiness reviews.
