RINA is currently recruiting for a Staff Surveyor to join its office in Lisle,IL within the Energy Engineering Project Management Division.

Compensation Data

Salary Range: $60K - $80K Annually

Mission

The Staff Surveyor is responsible for drafting survey and sub –division plats under the supervision of a senior team member or Group Leader. The primary responsibilities include preparing descriptions of areas surveyed and maintaining a variety of documents including plans, plats, deeds, and surveys. The Staff Surveyor will survey and investigate land surfaces to project precise measurements and locations, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Staff Surveyor will collaborate with project team members, client representatives, contractors, review agencies and others as appropriate for the project. Additional responsibilities include visits and /or inspections of project sites to gain information for a proposal or project sketch feature.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct physical site surveys using a variety of equipment and tools
  • Survey and investigate land surfaces to project precise measurement and location of lines, angles, points, area, and elevations
  • Perform mathematical calculations to determine and confirm surveying measurements
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including boundary calculations and legal issues
  • Coordinate with other engineers and support staff during preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements
  • Schedule and prioritize field surveying activities to ensure that deadlines and objectives are met
  • Draft survey and sub-division plats and prepare descriptions of areas surveyed
  • Review project drawings
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of engineering documents including plans, plats, deeds, and surveys
  • Ensure that the company safety, quality and technical policies and procedures are practiced during the execution of team projects
  • Compile reports detailing legal boundaries and other relevant information
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or other closely related field of study
  • 0-3 years of experience applying surveying principles and practices or relevant internship experience
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Proficient in comprehending schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to use survey equipment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) and other land development software to interpret and present information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license required
