RINA is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Subject Matter Expert to join its office in Chicago, IL within the RINA Consulting QOHSE Division.

Compensation Data

Salary Range:

75-95K Annually

Mission

The Quality Assurance Subject Matter Expert is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and continually improving and enforcing all policies, procedures and activities required for RINA to operate in compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition to regulatory requirements, the RINA Quality Management System is operated in compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. The Quality Subject Matter Expert reports to the Director of Health, Safety and Quality on the performance of the Quality Management System including recommendations for improvement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement, maintain, continually improve and enforce all policies, procedures and activities required for RINA to operate in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training, guidance and information to personnel on RINA’s Quality Management System, and other quality matters as requested.
  • Revise the Quality documentation in light of changes in the needs of the organization and in the industry.
  • Initiate action(s) to minimize the likelihood of the occurrence of nonconformities.
  • Reporting to the Quality Manager on the performance of the Quality Management System including recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain documentation in support of the RINA ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate and perform internal audits to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Support to all Business Units in North America for Quality matters. Support QOHSE in interfacing with third parties.
  • Responsible for periodic re-evaluation of risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor internal controls of key business processes, their supporting application and infrastructure, to measure effectiveness and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain registers for Corrective Action, Complaints and monitor for timely closure.
  • Promote quality culture throughout RINA.
  • Be aware and understand the Quality Policy. Ensure that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA QMS. Be aware of the quality of his own work and its impact on delivery service and contribute to the QMS improvement according to his/her role.
  • Support with client questionnaires / tender packages as requested.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree: a lower level of qualification may be acceptable if there is considerable work experience and / or professional skills.
  • 4+ years of experience independently planning, performing, and coordinating advanced level professional and technical engineering studies, computations, drawings, reports, and surveys
  • Possess a Certified Management Systems Lead Auditor or is willing to obtain.
  • Advanced knowledge of design techniques and tools in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Design Control experience including design and process verification and validation
  • Strong technical writing experience (policies, procedures, instructions)
  • Demonstrated experience using standard statistical tools
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms for remote auditing and real-time data sharing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills needed to communicate with all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided design software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering required (i.e. AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Up to 25% travel (i.e. Satellite office sites) may be required based upon business needs
