RINA is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Manager to join its office in Leatherhead within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.


We are seeking a dedicated Lab Manager to join us at RINA, a leading global provider of testing, inspection, and certification services.

As Lab Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimising lab capacity, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring safety in support of our cutting-edge consultancy projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficient Lab Management: Ensure the availability and efficient use of labs, supplies, and equipment to support APC project outputs.
  • Revenue Maximization: Maximize the utilization of labs and lab equipment to generate revenue for APC.
  • Project Integration: Scope and price appropriate lab management efforts into APC consultancy projects, ensuring accurate time tracking.
  • Equipment Oversight: Manage the APC equipment register, including equipment care, service maintenance contracts, and preparation of capex bids for new/replacement equipment.
  • Productivity Enhancement: Identify opportunities for enhancing the productivity of labs, equipment, and technical support.
  • QHSE Management: Ensure Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) compliance related to APC people, infrastructure, and equipment.
  • Procurement and Storage: Manage APC lab procurement, storage of assets/materials, and maintain the APC QHSE risk register.
  • Operational Infrastructure: Oversee APC operational infrastructure in coordination with the UK facilities manager.
  • Staff Competence: Manage the competence of staff in using APC laboratories and equipment, ensuring proper inductions, training, mentoring, and supervision.
  • Audit Focal Point: Act as the APC focal point for external QHSE audits.

Desirable Skills:

Forklift operation and First Aid certification.


Qualifications:
Academic Qualifications: Suitable for candidates with hands-on practical experience.
