RINA is currently recruiting for a Modelling e Simultion Engineer to join our teams in LA SPEZIA AND PISA within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.

Mission

The roles focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining flight simulation systems models and advanced flight control systems.

We are looking two roles, one focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining flight simulation system models and advanced flight control systems, and one focuses on planning, coordinating, and managing flight activities in collaboration with pilots. The professional works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest levels of performance, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency in aerospace technologies.

Key Accountabilities

Flight Simulation & Systems Development

  • Develop algorithmic models for Synthetic Environments, including dynamic simulation models of vehicles, life forms, natural phenomena, weaponry, automatic controllers, and artificial intelligence.
  • Advanced use of Matlab-Simulink and automatic code generation processes (C and C++) in Windows environments.Develop mathematical models related to rational mechanics, aerodynamics, and electronics (e.g., radar, infrared, radio communications, transponders).
  • Apply numerical techniques and methodologies used in dynamic simulation, with a preference for soft real-time techniques.Use specialized aeronautical knowledge, particularly in flight mechanics and aerodynamics, for aircraft and weaponry flight model development, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Draft documentation related to aerial, terrestrial, and naval vehicles (including systems and weaponry) and their operational use in military contexts.
  • Utilize technologies related to distributed simulation systems (e.g., HLA & DIS).

Flight Operations & Aeronautical Engineering

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor flight activities in close collaboration with pilots and operational teams.
  • Act as the main point of contact between pilots and engineering teams for operational planning and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational procedures, and scheduling requirements.
  • Analyze flight operations data and provide technical feedback to improve training, operational efficiency, or system performance.
  • Support documentation and reporting related to flight missions and operational procedures
