RINA is currently recruiting for a Internship- BIM SPECIALIST to join its office in Lecce within the Civil Engineering Division.
Mission
The Internship BIM Specialist will join the Civil Engineering Division and, through a structured learning path and daily mentoring from experienced professionals, will gain practical knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodologies and tools applied to infrastructure projects.
During the internship, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop technical skills in BIM modelling, visualization and data management, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and learning how BIM processes support project coordination, design quality and efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
1. BIM Learning and Model Development
- Learn how to develop 3D BIM models using industry-standard software (e.g., Autodesk Revit) for infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the creation and updating of BIM models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Gain understanding of how project components such as buildings, roads, bridges and utilities are represented within BIM environments.
2. Visualization and Analysis
- Participate in the creation of 3D visualizations and simulations to support project communication and coordination activities.
- Learn how 4D construction sequencing is developed and used to visualize project phases and timelines.
- Gain exposure to BIM tools and methodologies used to improve project design and construction efficiency.
3. Collaboration and Coordination
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and BIM workflows.
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination activities and learn how different design and construction disciplines are integrated within BIM models.
- Develop communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
4. BIM Standards and Methodologies
- Learn industry BIM standards, protocols and project-specific BIM execution plans.
- Support activities related to maintaining model consistency and alignment with project requirements.
- Gain familiarity with best practices adopted in BIM project delivery.
5. Data Integration
- Learn how project information such as schedules, quantities and other relevant data can be integrated into BIM environments.
- Assist in updating project information within BIM models under supervision.
- Understand the role of BIM as a central information repository throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Quality Control
- Participate in quality review activities aimed at improving the accuracy, completeness and consistency of BIM models.
- Learn how quality checks are performed and how model discrepancies are identified and addressed.
- Develop attention to detail through practical exposure to BIM quality assurance processes.
7. Learning and Knowledge Sharing
- Engage in training activities and knowledge-sharing sessions related to BIM tools, processes and methodologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen understanding of BIM applications across infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to promoting BIM awareness and continuous learning within the team.
8. Documentation
- Assist in preparing and updating documentation related to BIM workflows, processes and model revisions.
- Gain familiarity with project-specific BIM documentation and guidelines.
- Learn documentation management practices commonly adopted in engineering projects.
9. Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Explore emerging BIM technologies and industry trends.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving BIM workflows and project efficiency.

Qualifications
BIM Knowledge and Digital Skills
Basic knowledge of BIM methodologies and principles.
Familiarity with Autodesk Revit or other BIM software is considered an advantage.
Interest in developing competencies in 3D modelling and digital engineering technologies.
Willingness to learn industry BIM standards, workflows and best practices applied to infrastructure projects.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Visualization and Technical Aptitude
Interest in 3D visualization, modelling and digital design tools.
Familiarity with technical drawings, engineering documentation and construction processes is appreciated.
Motivation to develop analytical and problem-solving skills within a BIM environment.
Language Skills
Italian language proficiency at C1 level (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Good command of English, both written and spoken, is considered a plus.

Compensation Data
The internship is designed as a training and orientation experience and, as such, provides a monthly allowance in accordance with applicable regional regulations and Company policies
