RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental and Social Consultant to join its office in Jakarta, Indonesia within the Green Energy Solutions Division.

Role Profile

Reporting to the Environmental & Social Consulting Manager - Asia, you will be based in our Indonesia office (Jakarta) and contribute to the team performance on the following main areas: 

Project Management & Technical Delivery :

  • Assist team tender/proposal preparation. 
  • Assist project management process, take PM works on projects (internally and externally). 
  • Work effectively with the global E&S team and fellow leaders across the business for mutual success. 
  • Undertake tasks under projects. 
  • Participate/lead site visits. 
  • Prepare partially or the whole report following the scope of work defined in the agreement with clients. 
  • Provide technical coaching and QA/QC to junior members in the team. 

 

People Management :

  • Attend team/internal meetings. 
  • Complete routine and ad hoc appointments following company policies and requirements (e.g. timesheet, CRM, etc.). 
  • Attend the training appointed by the manager or per company policies. 
  • Deliver performance results as per objectives/KPIs set for the role. In consultation with management, define development goals and implement action plans to achieve goals. 

 

Business Development :

  • Assist in identifying new clients and opportunities in the country/region. 
  • Attend meetings with new prospective clients in the country/region. 
  • Join and contribute to the team’s BD initiatives, programs and activities. 
  • Assist in monitoring tenders and get involved in the tender discussion and negotiation process. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field.  
  • Experience in environmental assessment methodologies and compliance with project financing environmental and social standards.  
  •  In-depth understanding and application of IFC Performance standards as well as ADB/EBRD/Equator Principles or other international Lenders’ Environmental, social, health and safety standards, in the context of infrastructure and/or energy sectors   
  • Ability to perform air quality modelling and/or noise quality modelling, ability to use Windpro to undertake shadow flicker, noise and visual impact assessments  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.  
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for data analysis and reporting.  
  •  Willingness to travel locally and internationally for project needs   
  • Proven experience in managing resources, budget and time to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into existing teams. 
  • Good command of written and spoken English is essential and knowledge of additional languages highly beneficial.
