RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior RAMS Engineer to join its office in Turkiye within the Electronics and Systems Engineering Division.

Mission

The railway RAMS Engineer is responsible for ensuring railway systems operate efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime. His role covers system performance evaluation, risk assessment, and compliance with international railway safety standards.

The RAMS engineer will join the RINA team in order to be part of national and international railway projects. His scope includes various stages of the railway system lifecycle, from design to operation and maintenance.

Key Accountabilities

1. Supporting RAMS Process Management:
 - Support the implementation and coordination of RAMS processes across project phases.
 - Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards in developing RAMS deliverables.
2. Conducting Risk Analysis and Assessment:
 - Contribute to conducting risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards and safety risks.
 - Utilize RAMS methodologies such as FMECA, event tree analysis, and fault tree analysis to assess risk impacts.
3. Managing Documentation and Deliverables:
 - Contribute to the development and review of key RAMS deliverables like safety plans and hazard logs.
 - Maintain accurate documentation throughout project phases.
4. Collaborating with Stakeholders:
 - Work closely with project teams, suppliers, operators, and relevant authorities.
 - Participate in safety-related meetings and coordinate safety efforts.
5. Testing and Commissioning:
 - Contribute to ensuring safety requirements are met during the testing and commissioning phases.
 - Review and assess test plans to validate system reliability and safety.
6. Reporting and Communication:
 - Provide updates on RAMS activities to project managers and stakeholders.
 - Communicate safety-related issues and recommendations effectively.

Education

Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic/TLC Engineering

Qualifications

 - Understanding of functional safety principles in engineering projects, with a willingness to learn and develop expertise.
 - Familiarity with basic railway industry regulations and safety standards.
 - Awareness of safety processes outlined by relevant authorities, such as ANSFISA.
 - Basic knowledge of RAMS analysis software, with a willingness to gain proficiency.

- International standards: EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508

RAMS Analysis Techniques: FMEA, FMECA, FTA, ETA, RBD

- Risk & Safety Assessment: PHA, IHA, Hazard Logs & Risk Matrices, ALARP, SIL
