EMEA Marine Consulting Project Engineer

Mission

The Project Engineer is at the forefront of project execution, playing a pivotal role in the calculation, design, and technical oversight of engineering projects. This multifaceted position requires a strategic thinker who can plan, schedule, and manage all technical aspects of assigned projects while ensuring accuracy, resource optimization, and high-quality outcomes. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, employ project management methodologies, and act as a liaison between the Project Manager and other project team members.

Key Accountabilities

Project Execution and Technical Oversight:
 - Responsible for the production and the performance of assigned projects
 - Oversee all the technical aspects of engineering projects from initiation to completion.
 - Monitor and coordinate technical deliverables, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
 - Plan, schedule, and predict all technical tasks, allocating resources efficiently.
Collaboration and Coordination:
 - Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on larger projects, ensuring seamless collaboration.
 - Provide day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, maintaining effective communication within the project group.
Client Relationship Management:
 - Liaise with clients on major projects within the Business Units, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
 - Assist Project Manager in managing client relationships, addressing change orders, claims, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Technical Competency Development:
 - Develop and enhance technical competencies within the engineering scope of works.
 - Collaborate with operations management to facilitate coordination and execution of project work, minimizing operational impact.
Project Reporting and Documentation:
 - Assist the Project Manager in defining resources, assets, and tools for project execution.
 - Prepare and present comprehensive project reports to senior management.
 - Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout projects.
Quality Management:
 - Adhere to the Quality Policy and execute all activities in accordance with the RINA Quality Management System.
 - Be conscious of the impact of your work on service delivery and contribute to QMS improvement based on your role.
Communication and Liaison:
 - Act as the liaison between Project Manager and project team members.
Relay important and relevant project information in an effective and timely manner.

Qualifications

1. Project Management Experience:
   • Demonstrated experience in project execution and management, preferably within engineering projects.
   • Proven ability to oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.

2. Technical Proficiency:

   • In-depth understanding of engineering principles and practices.
   • Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software.
   • Ability to monitor and coordinate technical deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
