RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to join its office in Tel Aviv within the Project Engineering Division.
Mission
The Senior Project Engineer leads the technical execution of the most complex and high-value projects, ensuring that all technical aspects are seamlessly integrated to meet project requirements. This role provides strategic technical guidance and maintains oversight of multidisciplinary teams, proactively managing technical quality, compliance, and safety. Acting as a senior expert within the project team, the Senior Project Engineer is accountable for ensuring successful project delivery while mentoring junior engineers and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
Proposal Phase:
- Lead the technical feasibility assessment for complex proposals, identifying high-level requirements and potential technical challenges.
- Strategize and integrate multidisciplinary technical contributions to enhance proposal competitiveness.
- Determine necessary technical resources, time, and skills, ensuring accurate project estimation.
Technical Implementation:
- Oversee technical delivery, ensuring alignment with content quality and adherence to milestones.
- Manage and resolve complex technical issues, providing advanced solutions to achieve project objectives.
- Continuously review technical progress and make strategic adjustments to technical plans.
Technical Team Leadership:
- Guide the engineering team in technical task allocation, performance monitoring, and support.
- Foster a collaborative environment among engineers, technical teams, and subcontractors to achieve project synergy.
- Work closely with the Discipline Manager to make informed decisions on resource allocation and task reassignment.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce advanced quality control protocols, ensuring project deliverables meet technical standards.
- Address deviations or quality issues by implementing corrective actions in collaboration with quality assurance teams.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant technical regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Identify potential compliance risks early in the project lifecycle and implement mitigation measures.
- Act as a point of escalation for technical safety concerns, coordinating with the Discipline Leader as needed.
Technical Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure that comprehensive technical documentation is maintained and validated for accuracy.
- Coordinate high-level technical reports and client presentations, serving as a subject matter expert in technical discussions.
Training and Mentorship:
- Mentor and develop junior and project engineers, offering advanced technical insights and guidance.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team to strengthen technical expertise and team cohesion.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Facilitate effective communication among technical teams, project management, and stakeholders, providing clear updates on technical progress and challenges.
- Represent the technical team in high-level discussions with clients and senior management, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement innovative solutions for process improvement across projects.
- Lead the incorporation of lessons learned into project planning and execution to elevate technical performance.
Risk Management:
- Proactively identify technical risks within projects, assessing potential impacts and developing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project management to ensure risk management measures are integrated into technical plans.
Education
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in design engineering with proven success leading multi-disciplinary projects. Demonstrated expertise in project controls (scheduling, budgeting, and risk management) and an ability to manage change effectively.
- Understanding of PM project controls (scheduling and cost control) and change management process. PE preferred in US.
- Recognized as an expert in engineering disciplines related to the field. Leads complex calculations, designs, and analysis, and coordinates the technical deliverables for critical projects.
- Applies a deep understanding of project management methodologies, scheduling, and budgeting, as well as risk management and change control.
- Expertise in quality control and assurance processes. In-depth knowledge of compliance and safety standards in engineering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical aspects of high-value and large-scale projects.
- Extensive knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices, such as ISO, ANSI, IEC, or sector-specific standards.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (optional but advantageous for process improvement knowledge).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for addressing complex technical challenges.
- Proven ability to develop risk mitigation strategies and manage technical risks.
- Capable of high-level strategic planning to optimize project execution.
